Successfully completed a four year apprenticeship in December 1983.
| Responsibilities: As an indentured trades person I gained extensive machining experience in heavy engineering on lathes small & large, milling machines, horizontal & vertical boring machines, large cylindrical grinders, various numerical control equipment and ‘MAAR’ gear generating machines. Also I gained experience in assembly section, welding & fitting on assembly of large gear boxes for drag-lines, railway bogies’ and coal pulverising beater wheels for the power stations.
